Go (also known as Igo, Weiqi, or Baduk) is a strategic board game for two players, originating from China around 2000 BC to 200 BC. The game is now popular in East Asia.

We offer a traditional Go set with a board made from teak wood. This board features 12 x 12 squares (13 x 13 grid lines) and is designed especially for beginner Go players. The Go board is crafted based on the antique traditional Goban board with intricately carved legs. The teak wood Go board set is a beautiful and functional piece designed for playing the traditional Japanese board game Go. This set includes a classic wooden board, typically sized with an 18 x 18 grid (or 12 x 12 for beginners and 8 x 8 for children), made from high-quality teak wood. This choice of material not only adds an elegant touch but also ensures durability and resistance to wear.

The set also includes bowls for storing the Go stones, which are essential components of the game. These bowls are used to hold the black and white stones, which are employed to claim territory on the board. The construction of these components complements the teak board, creating a cohesive and visually appealing set.

The teak wood Go board set is an excellent choice for any Go enthusiast, offering a unique blend of traditional and modern elements. It makes a thoughtful gift for someone who appreciates the game and values the beauty of natural materials.

Although the rules are relatively simple, Go is actually quite complex. Compared to chess, Go features a larger board with more playing space and a longer game duration, with generally more alternatives to consider per move. The number of possible positions in Go has been estimated to be around 2.1×10^170, far exceeding the estimated number of atoms in the observable universe.

Both players, black and white, compete to maximize the territory they control by surrounding large areas on the board with their stones, trapping the opponent's stones that invade their territory, and protecting their own stones from capture. The strategies involved are subtle yet complex. Some high-level players dedicate years to perfecting their strategies. For some, Go is considered the greatest strategic game, surpassing chess and shogi in terms of complexity.

Go is typically classified as an abstract board game. Nevertheless, the resemblance of Go to warfare is often mentioned. For example, the classic Chinese text The Art of War (孫子兵法) is sometimes applied to Go strategies. On the other hand, general Go strategies are often expressed in proverbs and can be applied to other contexts, such as management.

In real-world warfare, conflict ends when both parties sign a treaty. In Go, both players must agree that the game is finished. Afterward, the score and winner can be determined.
